Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently threw a spirited birthday bash for the prince’s 39th birthday, and they did it in style at the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany.
A Boozy Birthday Bash
In a departure from their former royal duties, the couple relished the occasion with some German beer while watching a thrilling volleyball final match at the Paralympic-style Invictus Games, an event that Prince Harry himself founded.
Cheers and Camaraderie

Photographs captured by the Hindustan Times show Meghan and Harry raising a clear pint and cheering during the game. Meghan, who celebrated her 42nd birthday on August 4th, seemed to hide her delight behind her hand as her husband enthusiastically celebrated. Body language expert Judi James, speaking to the Mirror, described Prince Harry as looking happy and even a bit bashful.
A Taste of Local Flavors
The night prior to the Invictus Games, the royal couple and some friends paid a visit to a local brewery called Schumacher. Prince Harry reportedly enjoyed six beers during their visit, while Meghan opted for one. They also relished traditional German dishes, including wiener schnitzel, pork knuckle, sausage, roast, and mashed potatoes. The warm and welcoming atmosphere left a lasting impression on the staff.
Royal Birthday Celebrations
While Prince Harry and Meghan received a warm welcome in Europe for the birthday festivities, it seems that the royal family back in the United Kingdom did not extend similar birthday wishes. Typically, the royal family marks a family member’s birthday with a social media tribute, but this tradition might not be upheld this year. Meghan Markle also didn’t receive a public birthday shoutout from the family.
A New Life in California
Since stepping back from their senior royal roles, Meghan and Harry have been residing in Montecito, California, where they have embraced a different lifestyle. Their new life includes indulging in In-N-Out Burger, a far cry from the royal banquets they were once accustomed to.
In this joyful celebration, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to forge their own path, enjoying both the simple pleasures of life and the camaraderie of international sporting events like the Invictus Games.
